Dollar Cost Averaging & Compounding - Part 2

Two people, both earning the same return. One invests $1,000 a year from age 20 to 29 and then stops for good. The other invests $1,000 every year from 30 to 65, three and a half times more money in. At 65 the one who stopped has $447,864. The other has $271,024.

Part two of Ryan and Shannon Warwick on dollar cost averaging and compounding. It picks up with whether DCA can hold you back, what the data says about buying right after a new market high, the year their own income dropped and they kept investing anyway, and what it means to let your money work for you instead of working for your money.

This is part two of two. Part one covers what dollar cost averaging is and why its real benefit is emotional.
